'Modest, multifaceted and multifunctional'
Designed as an entry into the Life Edited design competition the brief called for the design of an efficient and minimal fit out of a small New York apartment, approximately 40m2. Despite the apartment’s limited size the brief called for a high degree of functionality including: a dining space for 12 people, a lounging option for 8 and an ability to sleep 2 guests if required. The design was based around efficiently meeting these requirements through a multifunctional and modest design of contrasting elements.
Curved timber features within the design juxtapose the minimalist white walls and storage compartments.
Fold away beds and a folding partition allow the apartment’s interior space to be altered considerably with very little effort.
