Design Philosophy:

“Architecture is the art of making the content and the forms of a civilisation coincide,”
William Lescaze, On Being An Architect, 1942

Great architecture is a form of art, but it is something much more than this.
As well as an expression of culture I believe architecture is also about the opportunity to actively shape society and improve the lives of those within it. I believe the most important considerations for good architectural design are; efficiency, simplicity and consideration of the occupants’ experience.
As the building industry is responsible for a large proportion of our energy use there is also an ecological responsibility for all architects to consider the sustainability of their designs. Buildings, to be truly sustainable, must be designed to be efficient, economical and to facilitate social interaction.
